Rain, rain, go away...

Rain, rain, go away...
Kitty wants to go out and play.

  1. Very well done! Only one thing comes to mind.

The cat is dead center. Perhaps offsetting some of the left, and or cropping from the right would have cat leading into the picture. You definitely want enough background inside and out, to make this, but shifting cat right would make it more dynamic.

  2. Thank you Oshi Shikigami It was more a matter of the debris around it detracting from the kitty. Good tip though.

  3. Personally I do not feel that the picture is unbalanced thanks to the vertical board. The cat is static and not moving - at least this is how I see it. Leaving more space from the left side would have indeed created an impression of movement, a jump - may be but I do not think this is what was intended. I see a semi-dreaming cat, frozen in this static pose. My own cat frequently day-dreams like that.At the same time the boards in the right corner do attract attention. I'd try blurring them just a bit, to leave the emphasize on the cat.

  4. Thank you Michael Mossiagin. I see what you mean about the boards. I started out with a heavier blur but was intrigued by the "junk" and didn't want to obliterate it. I will try that. You understood my emotion about the cat perfectly. It was feeling quite sorry for itself because torrential rain would not allow it to escape from us! :)
