+Guðbjörg Ben Just posted a link to a youtube about making backgrounds for photos.

This is an excellent idea, and one that I use quite often. I take it a bit further though, in some cases. I often shoot photos, specifically as a background, and I also paint them, as a background.
Sometimes I just go into photoshop. I do a digital 'painting' with gradients or the like. Or take a photo, and blur it, or otherwise change it to look better as a background. Of course, if you are willing to take the effort, you can combine in Photoshop (or whatever editing software you choose) and take picture and background and mask them together as well.
I have included a few that I have made either as a painting, photo or digital painting here as examples. Of course you are only limited to your imagination!
If you wish, you may use some of these, as long as it is not the 'main focus' of your composition, and used as a 'background' (blurred or not). If you do, I would appreciate attribution, and a notification. I would love to see what you made! :-)

Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhen I am showing my paintings at home, I often get funny looks when I tell them that these are painted for photo backgrounds. Then they get it, and smile. LOL
ReplyDeleteI find this such an excellent idea to do, lot of my flower photos are taken just on my balcony and usually with really bad cluttered background and buildings so they don´t come out as nicely as I want them too, unless I use aperture of f/ 1.8 to get blurred background, but then the flower is not as much in focus as I wanted it to be.
