Dilettante Photography: Retrospective

This isn't anything too fancy, in fact I stopped in the middle of the hwy to snap this picture on my cellphone. I am so in love with today and the beauty that surrounds me. The farmers cutting and harvesting hay, the corn fields bursting with giant ears of corn and the soybean fields overflowing with soybeans. Everywhere I turn everything is green and full of life. Living in small town rural America is a blessing and amazing. Just wanted to share this with you all. I hope your day is also filled with beauty and wonder! :) Namaste

I want to take the time to personally thank everyone who participated in this bi-weekly photo contest. I enjoyed every picture that was submitted, it is an honor to view your work, passions and talents. Each of you are gifted and bring variety and delight to this community and contest. I'll admit that I always struggle in choosing but that is part of the duties in being over the contest. With that said the main things I was looking for were 1. Details that are often missed when taken from a distance. 2. Uniqueness, out of the ordinary, different 1st place was Michael Mossiagin​​ for his green leaf. The lighting and details are so obvious from the tiny hairs to the pattern found in the leaf, it is rich in details and yet such a beautiful picture in it's simplicity. 2nd place goes to Hera Bell​​ the picture was not only amazing but the angle it was taken along with the uniqueness stayed with me. I knew when I saw this that it would be a winner in the contest. 3rd place goes to Gu...

Lol...this was not taken recently but it's funny, I was at a Halloween party and got into a cupcake frosting fight. As bad as I look the others were worse. This pic was one I took afterwards with a plastic spider. Anyone who knows me realizes that I would not be posing for a selfie if the spider was real, I would be freaking out!!!! #Selfie
