I really like this image: the colors are crisp and bright, the scene is interesting and dynamic. As far as I can judge, there is no one main subject here, all subjects are playing their parts in building - sort of - mosaic - that's why usage of a narrow aperture (f/13) seems reasonable to achieve a deeper depth of field and clear details of all part of the picture - at least on the first plan, as the ships are a little blurred as a result of usage of a telephoto, which is perfectly fine.
Thank you Michael Mossiagin for your assessment of my photo! As far as my theoretical knowledge is rather poor and I mostly rely on my intuition, it's very useful for me to read your notes and learn from them!
thanks Igor Rybnikov ! I would not call my own knowledge too intensive myself but I do try approaching my photography systematically. Intuition is based on experience and therefore its usage is more than valid as soon as the results are satisfactory; I'm pretty sure all seasoned photographers use their feeling rather than tables and calculations.
