  2. Improve? Why improve? Don't you like it? I do.

  3. Thank you kindly Slawek Kozakiewicz ! I simply think that almost every image can be improved/changed, especially taken into account how many different opinions people have. Besides I was comparing this one to a black and white version and was interested in your opinion: which one seems more rich and interesting?

  4. Michael Mossiagin I personally prefer the colour version of this pic.

  7. I can not see the B&W? Is it posted in this group? So I don't can give you my opinion which one is better, color or b&w.
    Now...my criticism:
I think you can do much better than this! This one is blown out with to much highlights on the flowers. Contrasts are very hard, but maybe it is because the light was hard. It's not clear for me wat you would like us to see...the beauty of the flower, the leaves?...personally I think the photo is  way to crowded because of the busy background. Maybe with a larger aperture and more focus on a detail you can create a much more tranquil image and you can show us what you really would like to see us.

It's difficult for me to express myself in English... So forgive me my rare translation and mistakes in phrase... ;-)

  8. Thank you very much Anne Elling for your response. The black and white version was posted in the groups' stream earlier on the same day. The contrast was increased during the post-processing stage to enhance the shadows/highlights transition. I purposely used f/5 to not blur too much of the background although leaving only the closest flowers and leaves in the focus... As you can see a ray of light is falling directly on this flower at the front, lighting it up. I agree totally with your criticism: I should have taken more time isolating the flower I chose, using bigger apertures. I guess what I tried to show were the flowers and the leaves lit up by this ray of light I mentioned. Obviously I did not really succeed in my job - otherwise you would have guessed it. I - sort of - felt it myself and that's why it was posted in this category and waited for your intelligent input for quite some time :) Thank you very much.

  9. Michael Mossiagin  OK, now you mentioned the ray of light, I see wat you wanted to show us! That's not good at all héheh  ;-)  ... A photo must tell us something without the use of words. ;-)  So that's why I said you can do better!! (besides the overexposing ofcourse)

Pehaps  I was a bit to harsh on you. I'm not used to give feedback/criticism. Most of the time people want only to hear "great" "fantastic" etc. etc. and score with plusses.
Thanks you so much for the time to response and explanation on my criticism.
I think I gonna like this group!

Have a wonderful day my friend!

  10. Hi Anne Elling,
Thanks again for your refreshing criticism. By design all the requests, posted to "Scafflold - requests for critical feedback" category encourage extreme criticism. Not all the people pay attention to this difference but that was the idea at least. Have a great day!
