I have never done HDR yet, so I cannot really offer a significant input here. Because of my nature I cannot resist to adding my "two cents" even though I do not fully understand what I'm talking about ;) For me a big issue with HDR images is absence of shadows. i guess it is difficult enough to choose the "right" range of exposures to make HDR clear and sharp yet natural.
To me, an overly HD photo is physically hard to look at. All the thousands points of data, "screaming for attention" kinda hurts my eyes, really, not figuratively.
I will admit to two things though: One, in the film days, I would have killed for images like that. Two, I am actually getting tired of it now.
Not saying it is bad, or such. Just thinking it has it's place, and it's amount, in any picture. I cannot but think, that there are many others, like I (OK, 'old folks'!) that think the same?
In any case, I am not saying it about this photo. This one is not over done, in my perception. Just venting. LOL
Thank you! Oshi Shikigami I agree. After blending the images I actually wanted to tone it down a bit as opposed to what I normally try to do to most of my other photos.

Thank you, I appreciate those "two cents" I agree with your comment. It's sorta a love/hate thing for me with HDR. Michael Mossiagin

ReplyDeleteEfrain Salvador, Jr., and every shot is different in that. I appreciate you have a 'handle' on that. Go with your gut on it. :-)
