Blue Hour: The Train Station by the Hill... (Hamburg, August 2016)

Blue Hour: The Train Station by the Hill... (Hamburg, August 2016)

...so to speak. It's actually the Landungsbrücken (Landing Bridges or Landing Piers or whatever-you-may-want-to-call-it) Trainstation. One of the hotspots for tourists and Hamburgers as well. (And no, I am not refering to the famous sandwiches).

Landungsbrücken is a hub for the city ferries and harbor sightseeing boat trips. And it offers great views on the Harbor, the river and so on. During the tourists season this is a very crowded place in particular on sunny weekends. Best day to go there (if you are flexible timewise): Mondays. Chances are that you may meet me there taking pictures or sitting on a bench reading a book on a nice late afternoon...

By the way: The name of the seafood restaurant located beneath the train station ('Ocean') is a bit misleading. Yes, you may and probably will see Ocean ships from this spot (depending primarily on the tide level). But both of the two Oceans nearby are still some 90 minutes drives by car from Hamburg. In opposite directions. Or as the crows fly: Some 90 kilometers in Western direction to the North Sea and around 75 kilometers in North Eastern direction to the Baltic Sea.

But the food is OK.
