Over "L"
Went to the top of the parking deck a block from my house. I've been here since 2008 and it just now dawned on me that I'd have a view above the "L".
I wanted the blues and red of the train to stand our more, so I accentuated the yellows and the greens form the buildings.

I'm amazed I got any shots, but now I know what to expect up there. I think I can find a better spot and maybe bring a wider lens.
Trying to capture the mood of just after blue hour, I went with a long exposure to catch the train snaking its way through the curves. Processing was aimed at toning down the colors. I wanted the blues and red of the train to stand our more, so I accentuated the yellows and the greens form the buildings.

A very impressive and detailed long shot!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael Mossiagin
ReplyDeleteNice mood,
ReplyDeleteBut IMHO a bit too narrow::
- crop of the buidings near what appears as their tops
- crop of the nice s cuve in the bottom part
As for the crop at the top... I need a wider angle lens. This 28mm, on the parking deck edge didn't give as much coverage.
ReplyDeleteAs for the train...
That is obstructed by a ledge and smaller buildings in-between this parking deck and the tracks.
I consider this a dry run. I gather my gorillapod and put on my 28mm and went to see what I would find. Snapped three shots (two by accident due to gloves) and decided that I was ill prepared.
When the weather warms, expect to see more shots with an attempt to get better framing.
