Swamp and Embankment (Hamburg, October 2015)
This is a photo I shot in a small and less known nature reserve area on a river island in the South of Hamburg ('Wilhelmsburg'). What in the centre of the pic appears to be a path covered by autumn leaves is actually water. To the left there is a floodplain forest. Or 'riparian forest' as forest botanists call it. Says Wikipedia. Anyway, it's a kind of forest / swamp situation that is covered by water all six or so hours, as the tides from the Ocean and the Elbe river come and go. It's Home to a number of rare birds species.
Гарно.
