I really must thank everyone who participated, you all put up inspiring work, I'm very impressed. 

I must also say that I tried to avoid picking a shot by the moderators. Which was hard to do because your work was fantastic!

That said I must award Guðbjörg Ben for this shot. I feel that it exemplifies #abstract  photography in that it makes you question 'what is it' while being visually stunning. 

For all the other entrants, or anyone that may disagree with my selection bear in mind that I'm not a professional, and that the definition of abstract varies vastly from person to person. 

Thanks again for your hard work, I can't wait to do this again!

This was taken last year, when I was testing zoom effect. This is a  glass bowl on a white table. The pattern of the bowl is two angels, you need to look at the pattern for awhile to see the angels.
But when I did the zoom effect I got.....well:  a face or a scull !
