Michael Mossiagin, I was just pulling your leg, on the underwater camera. :-)
I will continue to use all my cameras. My Leica is a film camera, and film costs $$$ to shoot and process. With the amount I shoot, I would go broke feeding my Leica!
For me, the big plus for the Leica is the whole 'rangefinder' features. Small, quiet, unobtrusive, ease of focusing and hyperfocalizing, seeing outside of the frame, seeing at the exact moment of exposure, and such. I used them extensively in the '70-80s and am comfortable with them.
At the risk of heresy, I will state, some of their lenses are not all that good, especially earlier ones. There are others, that are state of the art in performance. The newest 'aspheric' lenses are specifically designed for digital work, and are not necessarily the best choice for film.
There is a lot more I could say. But briefly, Leicas, for me, are a tool. There are some things they do better than anything else, and some things that are not so good for. I will use them when I feel they are best for the situation, and use something else when they are not.
Nicely done for an overcast day. :-)
ReplyDeleteOshi Shikigami thank you! As I mentioned before it was raining all day long and I had to use my waterproof point-n-shoot camera....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture !
ReplyDeleteAh yes, if only Leica had an underwater camera... LOL
ReplyDeleteOshi Shikigami so you are going to stick with Leica from now on? I wonder why people love them so much? Is it because of the optics?
