comparison of the Tokina 90mm/2.5 with extender (left) and the Kiron 105mm/2.8 (right), both at f8 and 1:1 magnification. the pics are not perfect, but handheld it's very difficult...

  1. An interesting comparison... It is not simple to judge, to me the images look equally sharp but Tokina seems to handle the highlights a little bit better.... What do you think?

  2. Michael Mossiagin maybe because the Tokina was at Iso 500 and the Kiron at Iso 900, dunno why, but i think the light was changing every minute even in the shadow... the color cast is quite different but bokeh not really.

  3. Robert Glöckner I know how difficult it is to shoot macro hand held... I spent half an hour today following a bumblebee... My Tamron 90 has a very good glass but absence of vr is a serious inconvenience...
