The UNESCO World Heritage Classical Gardens of Suzhou are a set of gardens around the city each with their own distinct flavor. I only had a chance to visit two of them, but the difference was interesting.

While smaller, the Lion Forest Garden has a neat vibe. Tons of rock sculptures and interior courtyards leading to entire other parts of the garden.

As I was exploring, I came upon this scene. A couple taking in the courtyard and rock sculpture as seen through this portal-like doorway. The light wasn't the best so it took me a while to figure out how I wanted to capture it. Luckily, the couple was content to stay & contemplate ... and I still had the composition!
