[location mention in the original post has been updated to reflect that the Island is still in Sydney Harbour]

This island in the Parramatta River is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its convict history. Over the years the island had been in continual use for various different reasons…making it a photography fun zone.

Isn't Cockatoo Island still in Sydney Harbour? Nice shot
ReplyDeleteYou would know better than me, but when I look at Google Maps, the body of water on all sides was listed as the Parramatta River...and Wikipedia says: "...is located at the junction of the Parramatta and Lane Cove rivers, in Sydney Harbour..."
ReplyDeleteWhere does the Harbour end and the River(s) begin?

ReplyDeleteIt is right at the mouth of both those rivers, but still in the harbour https://www.google.com.au/maps/place/Cockatoo+Island/@-33.8581722,151.1666358,14z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x6b12afa4e11383d7:0xf017d68f9f0ab30!8m2!3d-33.8470558!4d151.1716362
Ah. As a non-NSW-ian I thought of the Harbour as ending just past Darling Harbour or something.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the correction.

ReplyDeleteI am no authority, haven't lived in Sydney for 20 years
You are a better authority than me! I'll take it!
ReplyDeleteHopefully, I'll get back to Australia. There was a chance that my wife's business would take us there again [next May], but it's fading.
