I have been looking into upgrading from my point and shoot camera to a Nikon D550 or the D7200.

I have been looking into upgrading from my point and shoot camera to a Nikon D550 or the D7200. I was wondering if anyone uses Nikon and the NEF(Raw) file format. What software do you use to work with the NEF format.

And, any other thoughts about the cameras in general would be helpful. Thanks folks!

    I use Nikons with two different raw formats. Both work without issue with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Lightroom does almost everything I need but any remaining in Photoshop. :-)

    That's a big plus. Are you using the CC versions of Lightroom and Photoshop Oshi Shikigami?

    Yes, I use the entire suit, and if you have need, you can place those files in any that take photos.
