Hi fellow photographers. I was honored to choose and monitor the next contest that will start today January 27th and end on 13th of February. I decided to choose a theme that is related with a technique and leave the subject to photographers. This contest theme is "Contre jour" a delicate way to control the light and shadows, and face sometimes unexpected results. ReplyDeleteThe people in this photo seem to care less that someone is taking a photo of them, whereas over here the people would be giving you a dirty look so to speak, with every eye looking at you. I would love it if people, like in this photo, were like that over here.

ReplyDeleteWell this is quite a challenge, some situations are clear for me, others not. I've looked in the web to the theme and saw many criterias and also pictures.
ReplyDeleteIt's mentioned here: ..."in which the camera is pointing directly toward a source of light <--- this is not so clear for me, as i saw many pictures under contre-jour criterias, where the light a) is in front as backlighting, but the light source can for example also be from a reflection (indirectly from the sun or other source).
Sorry about my bad English... and thijs gerhardus ... sorry that i have never studied about ratios etc ;-)
