I want to take the time to personally thank everyone who participated in this bi-weekly photo contest.
I want to take the time to personally thank everyone who participated in this bi-weekly photo contest. I enjoyed every picture that was submitted, it is an honor to view your work, passions and talents. Each of you are gifted and bring variety and delight to this community and contest.
I'll admit that I always struggle in choosing but that is part of the duties in being over the contest. With that said the main things I was looking for were
1. Details that are often missed when taken from a distance.
2. Uniqueness, out of the ordinary, different
1st place was Michael Mossiagin for his green leaf. The lighting and details are so obvious from the tiny hairs to the pattern found in the leaf, it is rich in details and yet such a beautiful picture in it's simplicity.
2nd place goes to Hera Bell the picture was not only amazing but the angle it was taken along with the uniqueness stayed with me. I knew when I saw this that it would be a winner in the contest.
3rd place goes to Guðbjörg Ben the composition and contrast of this picture with the black background made it delightful and the details just popped out at you. I imagine it not being very interesting from a distance but closeup you can appreciate the rich colors and beauty.
Again a Big Thank You to all who participated! In my book you are all winners!!!! As you have a gift and talent that I admire. Thank you for sharing a part of your daily lives with us in this community. Each picture is a piece of a bigger picture into your lives and interest.
Gene Andreu I turn the officiating over to you :)
