DAORSON was capital of hellenized Illyrian tribe Daors who lived from 300 to 50 B.C. in valley Neretva river. The remains of this once most powerful city in the wider area are in Ošanjići, near Stolac in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was composed of three parts, of which the central one was the fortress - the Acropolis, which was surrounded by "Cyclopean" walls of massive stone blocks (similar to those of Mycenae in Greece).
