The Columbia River Gorge at sunset

This vibrant scene was taken a few weeks ago. We happened to see this brilliant sunset emerging as we were making our way along I-84 toward Portland. When we finally found a place to pull off at Rooster Rock State Park, I then realized that facing away from the sun was even more interesting.

This picture is a single image that was taken facing east and processed in Lightroom. No colors/gradients were added. In fact, after adjusting for exposure and white balance, the oranges & reds needed to be brought down a bit.
I did lighten the shadows to help accentuate the verdant fields in the foreground.
As I often do, I focused on a spot about 2/3 of the way out and shot wide open, planning on cropping.
