Fujifilm FinePix S4800 seems to take the lead by a little margin after I checked the websites. For more good info you may google sx170(canon) is vs s4800(Fuji). I, personally, would go on the Fuji, but do that search anyway. Good luck and enjoy!

I had a look at the specs myself and had an inclination to go with the Fuji, but wanted more from folk who do more photography than myself just to check. I did get the Fuji, I had a budget of £90 and both were under that by a penny.
