Today, I encourage Linzie Clayburn to come play, if she wishes.

* 1 Photo a day (new or from your archives, it matters not)
* Ask someone else to play ;)
*Have fun while possibly learning something new ;)
Often times, with my "black and white" photos, I use a very subtle form of split toning. I give just a couple percent of a yellow-ish tone to highlights, and a couple of percent blue-ish to the shadows. (This can easily be done in Lightroom on B&W, as well as color.)
ReplyDeleteThe end result is coming quite close to the look of an image printed on warm tone silver paper, that is chemically selenium toned. It enhances the contrast very slightly. And adds "depth" to the image, by the slight color contrast, added to the B&W contrast.
Oshi Shikigami Thank you, ,Oshi. This is all very new to me . I will try your technique & see how I go. Thanks again :)
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, Frank Smith. I have played with it a bit, and think it's possible to 'replicate' most any photo paper, and or toning 'look', with split toning. Have fun! :-)
